NAZ CONDUCTS AWARENESS SESSIONS
AND TRAININGS ON UNDERSTANDING
HOMOSEXUALITY AND THE NEED
FOR DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
IN ALL SPACES.

Over the years, Naz has conducted several sensitization sessions in educational institutions, with the Police, companies, embassies and in the general communities helping individuals challenge their beliefs and understanding their role in creating a safe and inclusive environment for the LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Since the decriminalisation of homosexuality, Naz is working increasingly with corporates who are beginning to look at inclusion and diversity within their workplace. However, the overall climate in the bigger picture, is still hostile and people are unable to come out in the open with their sexuality.

Naz also facilitates brainstorming sessions with senior management and leaders on the discrimination faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, understanding various other forms of diversity i.e. colour, caste, regional differences, unconscious biases at the workplace and especially building a perspective around inclusion.

We regularly hold training sessions with the police to sensitise them to LGBTQIA rights, identities and issues. Helping our lawkeepers understand the LGBTQIA community is just as important as helping the lawmakers understand.

The several years of experience of providing care to children living with HIV and AIDS through the Naz Care Home which serves as a Model Care Centre, has helped Naz to conduct capacity building workshops with care staff across many Child Care Institutions in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Bihar.

The sessions are focussed on understanding HIV and AIDS, stigma and discrimination, providing high quality care to children, role of nutrition and holistic development of the children. Similar sessions have been conducted with Child Welfare Committees, doctors, nurses and other institutions (both, governmental and non-governmental) across India.

Naz is increasingly working with stakeholders in Child Care and Education to create awareness on child protection.
