Ruby, junior coach

Ruby joined the YPI through the Essential programme when studying in 12th grade in Pratibha School, Lajpat Nagar after which she became a CSC. Earlier, she wasn’t very interested in sports since she had health issues. But sport has built her stamina and made her stronger. She started enjoying netball and facilitating the life skills sessions and after her period as a CSC, she was appointed as junior coach. Now as a junior coach, she manages a team of three CSCs on her own.‘The YPI program has made me confident enough to tackle any difficulty. I feel confident while talking with the teachers and stakeholders, managing the sites, conducting sessions, putting my views in front of others and managing extra responsibilities in the events as well.’

Rubysupports her family financially which enables her to give her views, take her decisions and raise her voice. Being a junior coach has made her more independent. She is currently preparing for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) Probationary Officer’s exam. She wishes to continue working forNaz because the organization gives her career counseling and career guidance.
